Luscious in color, texture and style, this engaging contemporary statement necklace is a ravishing mix of deep bronze, brass and amber tones fusing together to create a composition filled with soul and the aura of wonderful, warm sunshine. A unique mix of both modern and antique components, this dramatic necklace has an overall casual and carefree feel to it, but the ancient elements also bring a sense of knowledge, substance and cultural richness. This versatile necklace can be worn any time of the year and can be made to be more or less casual depending on your need. It looks awesome with anything from a t-shirt to a white collared shirt to a black dress and it can create a great bohemian-style or a more sophisticated modern look depending on how you wear it. The captivating pendant was handmade by Tibetan refugees living in Nepal of silver color metal. It is a Buddhist calander on one side and the om symbol on the other making the necklace reversible. Carved in Java, Indonesia, rusty amber color bone beads help to bring out the deep amber tones in the resin ring. Three strands of orange aventurine gemstones make up a large portion of the necklace and provide a beautiful range in hue from white to yellow to light orange and deep, almost brownish orange.

Solid white bone hair pipe tubes and carved brown and white bone tubes add great contrast to the amber tones of the necklace. And soulful African brass is used throughout this energetic composition to complement both the amber tones and contrasting whites and browns. The large bicone brass beads at each end of the necklace are handmade by people living in Cameroon. They are individually made so each one is unique. They are antiqued, rough and inexact making them very exotic and ancient-looking. They are often a mix of newly made and old beads. The newer beads are hand forged by pounding while the older beads were cast.

Antiqued and weathered-looking brass rollo chain adds unique character and a sort of randomness to the necklace. Somehow complementing both the ancient and modern features of this piece, this large, heavy chain enhances the artistic nature of this fascinating and fun piece of jewelry. Closing with a brass lobster clasp, this necklace can adjust from 16 to 20" in length, at the shortest strand.
