These exotic and ethnic one-of-a-kind earrings are chock full of African flavor! I designed these accompany my unique Tembo Necklace and Tembo Charm Bracelet. It features a dynamite and versatile palette of carved bone tubes and dragonfly charms, African brass, Grecian cast bronze, and Indian bronze.
The African brass beads in these earrings were individually handmade in a small Ashanti village near Kumasi, Ghana called Krofrom using traditional and very time intensive methods. The method is called “lost wax” and it consists of weaving wax "wires" into a form, investing them in clay, burning out the wax and pouring molten brass into the mold. Each mold is hand made making each bead slightly different from the next. These amazing miniature works of art look and feel ancient in appearance and are overflowing with African character and soul. These particular beads are actually vintage.
Tembo is the Swahili word for elephant.
These ethnic and exotic earrings are 3" in length.
