Bold Cobalt Blue Glass, Turquoise, Amber and Hammered Silver Necklace

Chiang Mai Necklace:

This intriguing statement necklace is a masterpiece of color and form with an overall exotic look and feel of Thailand mixed with Tibet, China and India. This fascinating piece of art-to-wear is filled with culture and soul and has a wonderful sculptural feel and element of architectural design. The stunning silver beads consist primarily of .999 pure silver and are individually handmade by the Karen Hill Tribe in Northern Thailand. The beads are made in their villages completely by hand using traditional silversmithing methods that have been passed down from generation to generation. Much of the village is involved in the beadmaking process, as this artwork is what is sustaining the Karen Hill Tribe people. The recent interest in their silverwork has enabled them to rely mainly on their traditional craftmaking and silversmithing abilities rather than having to look for work in the city.
