Frequently Asked Questions
Could you please explain the site sections?
- One-of-a-Kind: This section is only for completely unique, literally one-of-a-kind items. Most of these pieces have either hard-to-find beads or components, are not easily reproduced, or are a mixture of the two. All of our wire pieces are in this section as well.
- Collections: We have categorized most of our jewelry into a collection as another way for you to shop. Rather than shopping by type of jewelry, here you can shop by style. We have included one-of-a-kind and limited here along with our more readily available pieces. All of the pieces you find here can also be found in their appropriate category sections of the site.
- Necklaces: These are all of our necklaces that are currently available, with the exception of the one-of-a-kind pieces and our Everyday line.
- Bracelets: These are all of our bracelets that are currently available, with the exception of the one-of-a-kind pieces and our Everyday line.
- XO Everyday: In this section, you will find our less serious, casual, fun, and fashionable line of jewelry. These pieces are perfect for everyday wear and make wonderful handmade jewelry gifts. They come packaged in our custom recycled paper boxes.
- Sold Gallery: Many of the one-of-a-kind pieces and custom-designed jewelry that we have sold are shown in the Sold Gallery. Take a look to get an idea of what is popular and to get some ideas for a custom piece of jewelry I can design for you!
I see a piece of jewelry I want in one of the Collection pictures, but I can’t find it on the site. Where is it? The collection pictures are used to represent the collection itself. These are all real pieces of jewelry, but may not be available anymore as they may have been one-of-a-kind or limited pieces, or we may just have decided to discontinue certain items. Look through the corresponding Collection to see if you can find it, and if you can’t but want to find out for sure, just e-mail us.
Where do the descriptions come from? I write the descriptions for each piece of jewelry after creating them. I include as much information about the individual components as I can. Sometimes vendors know a lot about the beads they sell and other times hardly anything, which means I have to make some logical assumptions myself. I will usually use the words “probably” or “most likely” if I am unsure.
The background information about the stones as well as historical references is all “common knowledge” that can be readily found from many different sources. If you come across something you think is incorrect, please let us know, and we will look into it and make any necessary corrections.
I am looking for a matching necklace/bracelet set. Do you sell any? We do not sell any of our jewelry as a set. However, we do design some necklaces and bracelets to accompany one another. This will generally be mentioned within the description of the item itself. If the item in which you are interested is in a collection, then the corresponding bracelet/necklace will be in the collection as well. Another indication of a “matching” set is the name of the piece. I usually name the necklace first and then name the bracelet the same thing with Bracelet added to the end.
What does it mean if something is temporarily unavailable? This most often occurs with our items that are part of our standard line, not one-of-a-kind or limited. It usually means that we are having a hard time finding one or more of the components used in the piece. We will continuously search for the items, and we may end up making a variation of the piece in the meantime. Occasionally we may decide to discontinue the item. If you really want that particular piece, just keep checking back to see if it becomes available. And you are welcome to e-mail us to request the status.
Do you make custom jewelry? Yes, I would be happy to work with you on a custom design. Take a look at the jewelry currently available and get a feel for what interests you, including style, colors, and materials. Then contact me with your ideas and we'll get started!
I'm interested in purchasing XO Gallery jewelry for resale. Is this available, and if so, what are the terms? Please contact me directly regarding retail options. I consider these requests on an individual basis. I do not consider requests for consignment.
